On Tuesday, ONS's weekly figures added more than 7,000 deaths in England and Wales, raising the total for the UK to 32,313.
More people have died in the United Kingdom from coronavirus than any other European country, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Britain began its seventh week of coronavirus lockdown today, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson urging the country for continued patience with the measures as the UK comes through its 'peak' of COVID-19 cases and deaths.
Last week Prime Minister Johnson said that the government would provide information on this in the days ahead. Johnson himself has reportedly become more cautious over releasing the country from a lockdown following his own experience with the virus, which put him in intensive care at St Thomas' Hospital in London for several days earlier this month.
